Robert and Charlie by quiteproustian Robert and Charlie by quiteproustian
My two favourite characters (with Albertine and Swann) from In Search of Lost Time, Robert de Saint-Loup and Charlie Morel, looking not nearly as gorgeous as they should...:hmm:
Robert is probably the only nice, heroic and idealistic person in the whole novel, while Charlie is one of the most amoral characters in all literature. The irony is that they end up being lovers.

It's wonderful how this more formal picture. You've contrasted the two personalities nicely. Charlie's dark coat gives away his grayer character immediately, even without the shifty eyes. I love how his clothing is all buttoned up and closed, while Robert is actually much more open in his clothing. The free flowing scarf, and the loster lines of his coat are marvelous. Although poor boy looks so nervous. Don't like showing off your wedding band? Fufufufufu.

As always, I love his flowy cloud hair. I understand why Charlie can't have it, but it would be nice to see more of the flowy water/wind hair in general. ^^

1. Really Love the way you draw them. Saint-Loup and Charlie, both much more handsome than I imagined(Saint-Loup's hair is just fantastic!), and I like that Saint-Loup seems to be nervous a bit.
2.Love your choice of colours.:XD:
3. I don't know why precisely the reason, but I love that they turn their backs on each other. I think it depicts the relationship between the two figuratively.
4. Love their cravats, ...and Saint-Loup's wedding band.

Yeah, Saint-Loup behaved badly as a husband:no: though a little better than duc de Guermantes...

Ooh yes, certainly much better!!! Poor Oriane. She deserved someone much better.
Is anyone on Proust a good husband!? :D :P or wife?

It might be a maman=D
Or Cottard's wife?

It's true, Cottard's wife was the kindest woman in the world, she's so sweet and nice, but sadly most characters only show conetmpt for her :noes:
And Elstir's wife sounded like a good person too, but I don't remember much.
How about Elstir himself?

Yeah especially her own husband is very bitter to her:no:. But I like her. Heartfully kind person. (Maybe only one in Verdurin's salon=P)
I don't remeber much too...but I think Elstir is quite good husband. He left Verdurin's salon to marry his wife.

Yes, I like her too.
so it could be said that Elstir and his wife are the only happy couple in the novel :P
